Picnic in the park. Got to eat anyway so why not do it outdoors?
Small inexpensive gifts that show the other that you know something about them that others might not - favorite chocolates or sweets, a comic card or insider joke gift, whatever.
Go for a drive in the country or down to the beach.
Candlelight dinner at home. Go dancing in the lounge room.
Role play that you two are just meeting. Discover each other all over again.
Work on a photo album together while talking about the good times the pictures represent.
Snuggle on the couch while watching a romantic movie.
Eat meals together at the table without the distractions of electronic devises - no phones, no TV. Perhaps some soft music in the background. Use that time to talk, discuss your day and the plans ahead..
Write each other a letter about why you love them.
Share laughter together - watch a comedy together.
Do normal household chores in the nude or in lingerie while the other watches. Not recommending cooking in the nude though - ouch!
Prepare the bedroom like it was a romantic hotel, and greet the spouse at the door with some flowers. Doesn't matter if they came form your own garden.
Rub your partner's feet, massage their back or whatever they like to have touched. Do this without expectation that its going to lead to the bedroom, but don't hesitate if it does.
Brush each other's hair or rub their head. Some find this very sensual.
Bathe together, or shower together. Have warm towel or toweling gowns ready and just sit around in them. Make sure the room is warm enough though. Nothing romantic about shivering.

There's a certain kind of intimacy to a carefully crafted picnic basket that includes homemade treats and handmade goodies. Put something like that together then find a nice nature spot to enjoy it.

Romance can be free.
Take a walk together.
Just go out for one cocktail and then go back home for a candle light dinner eaten at a set table with your best dishes and loads of candles.
Have a date night every Wednesday. One week you cook, the next week he cooks.
Have breakfast in bed together.
Pack a picnic basket, a bottle of wine, a Frisbee and a deck of cards and go to a park for the afternoon. If it is windy, bring a kite.
Go to a museum.
Take a night class and learn a new skill, like a pottery class.
Begin a vegetable garden together. There is nothing like getting home from work and picking your salad ingredients from your yard. Grow herbs in planters to pick when you prepare meals. It is fun to grow things together.
Spend a day going to consignment shops or antique stores. There are so many cool things to see. You need not buy anything, but you can pack some food to much on while on the drive there.
