I want to know what and how my high school spends money. I want proof that they spend as much money on students as they say they do.?

Our school seems very underfunded. I know what the general expenditures and income is for the school district, but I feel like most of that money goes to elementary schools. Is there I way I can request or find the records of where my high school spends money?

School board meetings are open to everyone. Go to a meeting and ask. Talk to the principal- he/she should know if they are not getting the same funding as other schools. What you're suggesting is not really possible, as state agencies audit school systems and how they distribute funding. ALL public schools are underfunded, and the money is spent differently in a high school versus an elementary school.

They are a matter of public record, it does not mean they are accurate though. Start down at your town hall or towns website if they have one.

Pay particular attention to administrative cost, how many dean's principles, vice principles, counselors and such. You'll often see a lot of waste in those areas.
