how to tell if a phone is icloud locked?

I found an iPhone and don t know if it s icloud locked or not

    You would see a screen asking for the Apple ID & password.

    When you "find" a phone, the right thing to do is

    turn it in at a police station or a phone store

    so that it might be reunited with its rightful owner.

    If you want a chance to keep it after a failed search for the owner,

    leave your name and contact information so you can be reached.

    Don't hold your breath waiting for a call or letter.
