How do I get free wifi without internet provider?

I recently moved in a small efficiency and there's no free public wifi in my area. I tried creating a mobile hotspot but my service provider doesnt allow it. I'm trying to get online with my xbox. What are some of my options?

Wi Fi is a term most people incorrectly use; it is an abbreviation for a wireless Local Area Network (wireless LAN or WLAN). The LAN, wired or wireless, needs to be connected to an Internet source, either a hard wired service (e.g. cable tv, phone, IDSN, etc) or a cellular network wireless source, or a satellite wireless service or a tower wireless service. No such service is free.

Target an older or non-technical neighbors password for an "emergency"

They won't check their network to see if you really logged off

Without access to the Internet, you cannot get free WiFi.

Isn't any. You'd have to get internet through an ISP.

Why do you think the internet should be free? Your mobile carrier probably will let you create a "hot spot" but may well charge for the setup! Geting your own internet provider, (cable, DSL, etc.) is you best option.. you then connect a wireless router and you have wifi which is YOUR system!

    - get a different contract (which permits using your phone as a hotspot)

    - get a mobile WiFi hotspot with a coeesponding SIM/contract (same as above, just a different hardware)

    - get an ISP to provide you with a wired connection to your home

But in each case, you'll have to pay for it.
