You are a senior citizen now. Congrats on making it.
55 for most discounts.

It starts at 65, but people who spend a lot of time in front of the TV often fail much earlier.

I've lived another 20 years since I was 55. In the U.K. a man could retire at 65 and a woman at 60. These days those figures have gone up considerably and I'm not certain how many years have been added but it's still slightly lower for women than it is for men but is going to be balanced out in the next few years I believe to make it fair for everyone.

AARP uses age 50. I think of 62 as being senior because that's when someone can first receive a social security retirement benefit. As for businesses - it varies. Many of the restaurants I go to will accept an AARP membership card for senior discounts.

LOL. Actually, it's my birthday today and I turned 65. I'm not a senior citizen because my wife keeps telling me that I have Peter Pan syndrome.

AARP uses 50. Most businesses use 60. Social Security usually uses 65. To me, it's when you see a beautiful woman and wonder whether her mother is "available".
