Should I ignore his messages?

I got involved with a guy I shouldn't have, got a talking to a few times. Earlier today he messaged me and I just ignored him. Was that a good thing or should I have said something? Hard part is we work together, thankful not in the same department. This might sound dumb, but I do want to talk, but I really don't want to cause trouble

You are never required to answer someone's personal messages. If you feel it's best to ignore him, then by all means do so, and it doesn't make you a bad person.

If you don't want to cause trouble at work and he won't take the hint, bluntly say "I don't want to jeopardize our jobs, so it's in our best interests that we cut all personal contact. Please do not message me again." And then block him.
