IF I have windows 10 on my laptop do I need to update my printer to windows 10?

    no -- windows should have done that already

    Some printers are installed as network printers, so there may not be an issue.

    But back in the day, a certain sound card performed better with the Windows 95 driver than with the Windows 98 driver, so newer isn't always better.

    May or may not have to update the printer driver. Printers don't run Windows of course.

    The printer? No.

    The printer drivers? Probably, but Windows will do that automatically so long that the printer is still supported.
