All the cosmetic surgery and hormones cannot change that XY to XX, so why should I believe that it does?

Correct, surgery and hormones cannot change the chromosomes. However, you should realize that while XX is typically the female gene pair and XY is typically the male gene pair, there are many documented cases of cisgender women who have XY chromosomes and cisgender men who have XX chromosomes. Biology, sex, and gender are very complex matters and nothing is set in stone.

You shouldn't believe that it does because that is impossible. You should just respect the gender that the person identifies as

You shouldn't. But chromosomes are just one of many factors in gender.

Thanks SO much for that clarification! Actually, NO ONE EVER believed that ones chromosomes could be changed that way, and no one ever tries too. While you are here, there are many more combos than XX and XY involved with sex determination.

  • If you regulate some of the notable differences the Y chromosome would have brought them (hormones) and change their physical appearance, I think that there's some liberty to interpret the way they appear as being of the other gender (not sex of course). On that level it's somewhat ambiguous still, so people will either use their gender/self-identification or their sex.

As far as I've seen, gender is usually described as either a type of cognitive structure for sex conformism and/or a form of sociocultural class that's mostly sex-based. It's about self identification and some sort of general psychological need to conform to a gender, not about their functionality in reproduction.

Talking about biological sex doesn't seem like a good way to critique since it intentionally confuses the meanings that both sides use.

"All the cosmetic surgery and hormones cannot change that XY to XX, so why should I believe that it does?"

Why should I waste my time explaining the ways you are wrong and misguided? You'll ignore my post and continue being ignorant. But for others reading at home, here's my answer.

    1. It's not "cosmetic", it's reconstructive surgery.

    2. When it comes to intersex and transsexual people, biological sex is irrelevant.

    3. Gender and sex are different things.

    4. Trans people aren't trying to change their sex, that's a belief of ignorant cisgender people have.

    5. Transition isn't about changing sex or gender.

    6. Transition is about affirming the gender identity that transsexual people were born with.

    7. Transition isn't about you. It's about trans people being able to overcome their birth condition and be themselves.

Who gives a s**t? Chromosomes don't determine gender and even if they did your logic is still flawed because there are XX biological men and XY biological women and not everyone even is XX or XY.

Because if you don't believe what the LGBT Trolls want you to believe they'll call your employer and claim you're a *Phobe and then get you fired.

LGBT, getting acceptance by silencing everyone who doesn't agree with them... including researchers.

"In the course of writing this report, I consulted a number of individuals who asked that I not thank them by name. Some feared an angry response from the more militant elements of the LGBT community; others feared an angry response from the more strident elements of religiously conservative communities. Most bothersome, however, is that some feared reprisals from their own universities for engaging such controversial topics, regardless of the report’s content — a sad statement about academic freedom."
