If pure water is 55.5 M, what is the molarity of the water in a 2 M solution of NaCl in which the solvent is water?

    You need the density of 2M NaCl. Take it from there.

    The molarity of pure water is the density of water divided by the molecular weight: [(1.00 grams / mL) * (1000 mL / 1 L)] / (18.015 grams / mole) = ~ 55.5 moles / L = ~ 55.5 M. How do you have a top user badge and not know this?

    water dissolved in water doesn't make sense.
