like a tiny amount gets on your food, not the whole tube

    You're fine. The medicine itself won't hurt you at all. Depending on whether you have an ointment or cream, they come in different matrices and that isn't healthy butni tiny amount won't hurt you. The ointment is petroleum based and is similar to chapstick.
