Look at the Tech Specs for the audio of tv, then match up to the sound bar.
TV:
Audio Return Channel (ARC)
Yes (HDMI 2)
So make sure sound bar supports ARC to get the best bang for the buck. ETC for other features.

cnet reviews soundbars in this one.
might be worth your while to shop & scour thrift shops for older audio equipment, and equalizer,a reciever & 4 speakers,Hi def sound is neat to hear, from all 4 corners & the center too,
my bias is old is gold in AV stuff, often cheaper,a lot cheaper,no remote to add to the coffee table pile, batteries burnt out,,a few steps mean more exercise which we can all use

Generally speaking the more drivers a sound bar has inside the better they will sound, also flexibility and types of connections again the more connections the better...These are just general things to look for there are other things to look for like build quality, amplifier power frequency response and price but just generally speaking I have noticed that the better sound bars tend to have more drivers inside...

Soundbars are a replacement your tiny built in TV SPEAKERS. Check to see you have comparable connection to the sound outputs on your TV, and a reasonable remote control.

Number One is Connections ---
the sound bar Must have at least one input that matches an audio output on the TV.
Frequency Response --- it should be as wide and as flat as possible.
Other than that, size and appearance can be considered.
