I know it's a gag question, but people should listen to Janet. She obviously knows some important things pet 'owners' need to be aware of. Let's start with cats, mine almost died because of my ignorance. So an expensive Vet had to explain that they're CARNIVORES, and because of that some wont even drink from a bowl of water, because in nature they get everything they need from eating small animals (water included). My cat will NOT drink water...and the vet explained that the cat will dry out and be unable to poop because of it (he was doing so regularly), BUT ALSO - because their physiology differs from ours - if their constipation is left unnoticed for 4 or 5 days, they will then be unable to pee, and when that occurs they got about 48 hours to live.
So Captain Meow now gets canned food. I feed him a tablespoon 5 or 6 times a day, whenever he asks.
I still leave water out but he hasn't touched that in ten years! (I ADD WATER to his food though)
As for some dry food to leave always available for him, you gotta do that, because overnight he'll need to eat, and when they need to THEY NEED TO..but that dry food is now something more expensive than the cheap Meow Mix (which is made from all plant matter) ..because cats arent omnivorous, they need meat! So i get a dry food made from meat now.
ALRIGHT SO DOGS:
Dogs are carnivores too (although they're sometimes viewed as also omnivorous).
It means you gotta feed him meat!!
But unlike my fussy beautiful cat, they WILL lap up a bowl of water.

Physiologically speaking, your dog is not a vegan even if you feed it a vegan diet.

Your dog should NOT be a vegan.
BUT 2/3 of what is in your dog's food should be vegetable. They need 1/3 protein and meats are the best source of protein for a dog.
The other 2/3 should be a mix or some form of carbohydrate and of vegetables. PLUS some mineral additives that are important for canine health but not likely to be found in what you are mixing together for your dog.
