How do I stop watching porn.?
I've been watching porn and masturbating for 9 years since I was 14. I'm getting bored now. What should I do?

Maybe stop watching porn and hope your views on sexuality change before you're in the position to actually have sex. Early consumption of porn can ruin sexual development for the very reason you cite, you're already bored by the idea. It can also give young people a skewed view of what sex is. Sort of like the difference between playing flag football and being in the Super Bowl. Porn sex isn't real sex and trying to make real sex look like porn sex is usually off-putting to your partner. So take a break and try to imagine real life scenarios instead of the staged encounters that are adult films.

To reduce watching porn, try adding a little spice to your fantasies (such as reading about the thrills of taboo forbidden erotic romance).

Start by taking the time to think through all the things that are wrong with porn and masturbation so that you can clearly see how bad it is. Then consider the proper function of sex - to unite a man and woman as husband and wife and to allow the creation of new life. Really let those thoughts sink in, because the more you can hate what porn is and recognise how it debases sex and obscures its true purpose and goodness, the more you will be motivated to change and to aim for a positive goal. Consider how porn is exploitative, dishonest, intrusive, degrading; how it corrupts your way of seeing things and enslaves you to addictive habits, and how it strips sex of any meaning.
You mention in one of your other questions that you are at university, which I presume means you have access to various support services. Probably the university has a counseling service where you could get support. Or, because porn is fundamentally a moral issue, you may find it more helpful to talk with one of the university chaplains.

I find that if I want to stop doing something, especially if I'm bored with it, I just stop doing it and find something more interesting to do. You're 23 yrs old. Get out and date and play with a live partner.
