Any issues with cooking ribs in instant pot and then frying in oil?

I want to make garlic spare ribs and I’d love to soften them up first before flouring and frying and then tossing in sauce.

Do not understand the reasoning behind flouring the ribs then frying them.

The instant pot will make them tender.

A really good slab of ribs is not "fall off the bone" tender. There should be a little resistance so you sort of tug gently when taking a bite.

Rather than frying once they are done the way you want them sauce them and then broil until the meat has crisped up a bit.

    Floured? Fried?

Yes. Ribs are NOT floured. The are NOT fried.

    Gross.

I would do it in reverse order. Sear them and then pressure cook them in sauce.

If you pressure cook them, the meat will be falling apart like pot roast or pulled pork. Not sure how or why you would fry it after.
