Is it safe to put an 18 month old Russian dwarf hamster with two 4 month old Russian dwarf hamsters. Thanks?

All to often this results in the the new kid on the block being bullied or dominated or even fighting.

Sometimes they may accept a newcomer. The dwarfs are more tolerant of this but across the board, hamsters have a different social hierarchy than other rodents and much more independent.

Syrians especially simply can't be housed together. You can keep as many as you like, but they rarely accept outsiders in their personal spaces, where they sleep and eat.
