    Olivia is right. Most are safe but some are not. There are folk methods of distinguishing the good from the bad but they don't work.

    I'm satisfied with the scores of different type fish that are readily available and proven tasty.

    Yes, an Asian food shop near me sells frozen barracuda steaks, along with other exotic fish not generally available here. I like it cooked in either a tomato-based sauce or a mild curry sauce.

    There are a lot of better eating sea life, never tried it but a little shark I had tasted OK, just not much for texture.

    Yes, they are edible because they are not poisonous. If they don't taste good, then people won't eat them.

    Oh yeah. I have had the Pacific variety which I caught. They are pretty good but you have to eat them fresh.
