For my fellow people with anxiety/depression: Do you ever find yourself wary of doing things like taking showers when you're alone at home?

What do you do to calm your mind? What are the chances of someone actually breaking into your home to kill you?

Not that specifically, but when something similiar happens to me, I tell myself "eh, if that's the way I go, I do." It sounds stupid, but I think the fear thoughts stay when you engage with them. If you just sort of throw your hands up and say 'so be it,' it disengages the predictive desire of the brain to run scenarios (which is what that fear fantasy is). Sometimes it doesn't work right away, the thoughts try and get your attention, but you just sort of treat them like a begging dog. Sure the dog is going to try and get your attention, but if you focus on it, the tension builds. You just sort of have to let the dog beg, and go on doing what you are doing.
