What happens if you cant swim and you fall off a ship in the Navy?
My dog fell off the ship because he peed in his high heeled shoes, he hates carpeting...His name is THE YAHOO JOKER.
Attention level 7's this question was asked in the Military for a reason. Could you please ship it back to Military if a troll moves it.
He viciously attacked one of my contacts. keeps blabbing ''ninefinger, ninefinger, ninefinger'' this is why I posted here.
Thanks!

You will learn how to swim in Basic Training. That is a requirement of being IN the navy. If you don’t learn, you are failed out of Basic Training and don’t make it into the Navy.
If you fall off of a ship, someone calls the “Man Overboard” and the crew in the Bridge will mark when and where it happened. Then based on that charting information (remember that the larger ships don’t turn quickly or easily) they will turn around to the area and start looking for you -or- will launch helicopters (if they are equipped with them) to look in that area for you -or- will call other ships in the group that haven’t gotten to that area yet (such as in a carrier group) and have them look for you in that area.

Just flop around like a dead fish until a big, sessy man with a hero complex comes to rescue you.

You have to be able to swim to even join the military. If you do fall, and cannot swim well, you would probably die before you could be rescued, assuming anyone even saw you go over.

You drown. Seriously, if you are going to go out on a ship you should be smart enough to learn how to swim.

Nothing, other than reaching your ultimate rest place a few minutes earlier than those who know swimming.

You sink like a stone.
Good to be prepared for the possibility that extreme circumstances might occur and be able to swim or learn quickly during basic training.

NOTHING. If you can't swim, you FAIL basic training in the Navy and never get on the ship to begin with.

first you will get wet; secondly you will likely have fallen from such a height that you would be unconscious and if you did not have a life jacket on you would likely drown

They do Man Overboard drills all the time. Rescue swimmers will go get you if you fell while doing something with the crew. If you were trying to jump for other reasons and you snuck out, you likely signed your death warrant.
