In regards to right to refuse service just wondering if I was wrong for what I did?

In regards to right to refuse service... Just wondering if I was wrong for what I did or said. I am a server and they have these young guys who come in every night and act like jackasses to try to get a ride out of us servers well I told them not tonight and refused to serve them if they were going to act like that. Was I wrong?

Absolutely not. You were entirely within your right to do so. Too many people act like jackasses in restaurants which is detrimental to the success of a restaurant as it drives other patrons out. I've been in a couple that tolerated jackass behavior and have not returned.

No!  Why did you wait so long to confront them?

I don't think that you were wrong, but it would have been better had you waited for them to "act like jackasses", and then refuse to serve them if they were going to act like that.

You should have taken the issue to your manager so that he/she could solve the issue.

    No you weren't wrong.

You took a stand. Perhaps it would have been over the top to refuse service if it was just one time but you said this is happening "every night". Which is tantamount to harassment.

Yes you were wrong. Acting like jackasses is not a reason. Maybe try ignoring them and they will stop or go away.
