Should the kneeling for the National Anthem be allowed (or considered a crime) when representing America abroad or for USA team events???

Well if the American President can stand on foreign soil and claim before the world's media that he believes President Putin of Russia over his own intelligence and security services, and it is not considered a crime.

Then punishing American sportsmen and women for kneeling abroad seems like the actions you would expect from a dictator.

How hypocritical have Republicans become when we all know if Obama had said such a thing about Putin and American security services they would have been calling him a traitor and demanding his impeachment.

Only if the country has gone completely bonkers.

For the general public it can never be criminalized - courts would over turn any such law as a vio of the First Amendment (much like flag burning).

Now for the members of an organization - that employ people - if they require members to stand or face penalties - then that is the organizations right. You either comply, don't comply and face the orgs consequences OR you take them to court and get an injunction from forcing you to stand.

Real patriotism go by the boards.

The time wasted with the National anthem is so 1940s.

    Dispense with it.

Proper respect is no longer taught.

Nobody at the events has the respect for it.

Three generations are removed from the last REAL patriotic War.

They don't know how to give respect to national emblems.

The anthems are now just a delay to the Play.

If you are asking about a football team, thats up to the fans to accept it or not. It is not a crime to not stand for the anthem but that athlete should be punished.

It should be protected by freedom of speech laws.
