Cold sores are usually closer to the lip. Have you had cold sores in the past? Impetigo is a superficial infection due to strep or staph bacteria that normally colonize the skin. It's hard to tell from this picture, but it's usually described as "honey crusted lesion." It usually scales and I haven't seen it where it's such a small spot before. If it is truly impetigo, neosporin most likely will not work. You will need an antibiotic with strep and staph coverage, usually something like dicloxacillin. Penicillin-alergic patients will most likely get a cephalosporin (cephalexin) or macrolide (erythromycin).

Looks like impetigo get some neosperion apply should be gone in a few days
