Getting married?

So my partner of 12yrs,keeps asking me when will i propose too her?We have 3kids together.life is good.shes perfect in my eyes.no complaints what so ever!!Than why an I hessitant in getting married??Im 45 shes 36.perfect partner for me.Love eachother too bits,yet I dnt know about marriage??why?
