Is it possible to alert police to send an officer to a location just as a guard for a while?

There was a man at my mom’s job who was fired for stealing and he just showed up two days ago without notice for some belongings of his but he wasn’t allowed to be in contact with them. How should I report this suspicious activity? Will they send an officer to be in the store.

What suspicious activity? The police have better things to do.

Why didn't he get his stuff when he was fired? Why isn't he allowed to be in contact with them? No the police aren't going to send a unit to just sit around(unless it's a small town with a police force that has nothing to do). If he was warned not to come back then they can call the police when he is trespassing.

How do you report this "suspicious" activity? You don't. This is the responsibility of the employer. Stay out of it.

Not unless there's been a credible threat of violence. The boss can hire a security guard, however.

What is suspicious about him coming back to get some of his stuff that he left?

It's unlikely that the police would send an officer if no crime had been committed. What the store manager should have done was to tell the man to wait outside, or maybe in the reception area, whilst someone fetched the man's belongings and gave them to him.
