If you are transgender is there a reason not to transition? Also is it too late and useless to start HRT at age 27?

There are many reasons or more accurately excuses not to transition (family, religion, money and ridicule.) Also, gender dysphoria (ONE OF THE CAUSES) of transgenderism varies from one person to another. There's many trans people who want a "complete" sex change and some (like Blaire White) who are fine with just top surgery. Though apparently it's never too late to start, some trans people start at around 11 years old skipping puberty which is a totally natural part of life. I do kind of understand why someone would transition last though. Most people want to start a family of their own and you can't really have kids of your own if you get a sex change early on in life at 18.

Yes, it's expensive
No, it's never too late to start any type of transition, whether it's medically, legally or socially.

There are some good medical reasons why SOME trans people should not be on HRT. That is why you should do so under medical supervision. There are a ton of other 'excuses' not to do so also.
Most of the trans people I know began their transition after their twenties, so no, you didn't miss the boat. Of course, the best results are realized by those who started younger.

27 is still quite young to start transition considering there are those who don't start until their 50s or 60s. Of course, you'd get better physical results the younger you are.
Some obstacles to transition would be the cost of surgeries and hrt and having other health conditions that make surgery and hrt difficult.

It's never too late. Just start visiting a gender identity therapist to discuss your options and concerns.
