Is it sexual harassment if i ask someone if they'd want to have sex?

Just a straight up serious question, and obviously if they say no, then id just back off and not repeat it. Im sure that companies have different policies on this, but im talking in a lawful manner.

At work? Yes, it absolutely is.

Unless the person you ask has previously served notice that she/he finds requests for sex offensive then no that would not be harassment.

If it's in the workplace, it's sexual harassment and grounds for immediate termination in most places. If it's in a bar, it's more appropriate.

If the person say "no" I would apologies and go some where else. In otherwise leave her alone.

It would be sexual harassment if you ask it of someone with whom you work (includes school mates and teachers/school staff).

Don't swim in the company pool.

And while it might not be harassment, a single polite bald asking of that question could constitute creating a hostile environment.

(Side question, is baldly asking that question ever "polite"? Wonder what Miss Manners would say about that.)

Depends on WHERE you are when you ask. At the workplace, yes.
