There is no set time for a person to sleep. Years ago studies were conducted on isolated subjects who were in an environment without clocks, no way to determine if it was day or night, and no schedule to follow. The results of the study on circadian rhythmn shows that people will generally spend 4-5 hours awake followed by 4-5 hours asleep -- alternating over the long run. I am 75 and I generally go to bed around midnight, get up around 4 a.m. back to bed at 7 a.m. and up at 11a.m. Take a nap around 5 p.m. and then to bed again at midnight. Been doing this for a few years now and it suits me fine.
