Most of us are not indigent and can afford to pay taxes for helping people. Many of us are atheists which means we don't use GOD as a shill to hate people who are less well off than we are. I think I am blessed (to use a term) to live in America and am quite happy to help others enjoy what I do. In other words I AM NOT A COMPLETE ASHHOLE WHO WORSHIPS MONEY!!!! So called Christians really worship mammon and love money more than anything on the planet or beyond.

Helping desperate people is a better, more “christian” use of my tax dollars than the endless wars.

For the same reason why conservatives don't care about the conditions in those camps.
