Anyone ever filed taxes as single instead of married filing separately? If so, what happened once you ammended returns?

    If you, or your spouse, claimed credits or HOH filing status, you can still be penalized for fraud and barred from claiming EIC for up to ten years.

    amending from single to mfs the dollars might be the same or you might owe. could owe quite a bit if you got EIC
