Are there any creditable statistics that suggest capacities are effective?

Sorry. didn't verify that the spell check was correct. What I'm really asking is is there any real reason why we randomly have to verify that we are humans in a manner that is rapidly not effective,

Bonus: is there any reason to think that Y!A is ka target for bot posting.

    Well, consider that the entire purpose of reCAPTCHA was to train an artificial neural network to recognize objects in images. To claim that it can't be defeated by a bot ignores that it's a bot itself.

    We have to do it, because Verizon Media (the company that owns Yahoo) decided to see if it would be effective in reducing or eliminating spam bot posting. I've noticed on days when I need go through few captchas, chances are high I'll see some Yahoo Helpline bots on the Yahoo Products category. On days that I have to go through captcha more frequently, I don't see those Helpline bots posting.

    They are testing new spam fighting measures. It takes just a few extra seconds for each question or answer. They have to do something to prevent bots who can take down the sight for days or weeks at a time. Quora is the alternative if you don;'t like it.
