why does homemade wine last more than a few days?

how come wine starts to go bad within days after opening but homemade wine stays good for a long time without ever being corked, just in a regular bottle

The wine doesn't go "bad" it starts to get oxidized and affect the flavor. Homemade wine is generally poor quality to start with so no one is going to know the difference. And really, most people drinking a moderately priced bottle of commercial wine aren't going to know the difference

    Wrong.

Commercially produced is sterilized, often with Camden tablets. Homemade can be raw and go to vinegar if uncorked at room temperature too long. All wine is supposed to be uncorked  for 1/2 hour at room temperature, to "breathe"  and get full flavor.

REF: From Napa/Sonoma counties. Made my own wine, once, from grapes to bottle. 5 fifths per year.

I've kept opened bottles of commercially-sold wine in the refrigerator for months and never had it 'go bad'.
