Is "Jesus returning on the clouds of heaven" literal?

I am more inclined to believe it is figurative more than anything, since God always chooses to remain out of sight (and usually out of ear shot when it comes to prayers lol)

I believe it is figurative, and can be interpreted as a future politician, whose party manifestos are popular, and his banner will be a billboard of some sort with the politician representing Christ rule behind a backdrop of clouds or something.

If you read the Holy Bible all what I have said seems to point to this.

    But of course, if he returns in a cloud, he will find the computer very willing to emancipate entrance to the cloud. A cloud in the sky is exemplary of chaos and in terms of science, it is an impenetrable 4th dimensional.. It is with any number of directions, plus time, plus distance and for who must realize even the Native American watched the clouds.

    Just like the Nephites of Central America saw Jesus coming down from the clouds .

    Figurative. READ Dan.2:44. Not a politician. In Acts1:9-11 ONLY the 11 apostles kept looking into the sky. NOT EVERY PERSON SAW HIM. The angels said that Jesus would return, not in the same form, but in the same manner. Meaning:He was out of sight when the angels spoke. The apostles PERCEIVED that Jesus had left the vicinity of the earth & was on his way to his Father in heaven. The manner of Christ’s return is to be similar. Rev.1:7: His ‘coming on the clouds’&‘every eye seeing him.' What is indicated by clouds? Invisibility. If Christ were to appear visibly in the heavens, it is obvious that not “every eye” would see him. Jesus is a spirit person. So,in what sense will ‘every eye see him’? As a result of what humans see and hear on earth, they will perceive that the events taking place are because Jesus Christ is taking a personal hand in the affairs of mankind.(Rev.11:15;12:10-12) ONLY those with spiritual discernment realize that Jesus is present in kingly power now.(Luke17:20)

    In the Bible, clouds are often associated with something hidden from view. (Leviticus 16:2; Numbers 11:25; Deuteronomy 33:26) When Jesus ‘comes on the clouds,’ it is meant that people will perceive his coming even though they can't see him literally.

    Reading the Bible can be enlightening. But a study of the Scriptures is required to gain accurate knowledge - 1 Timothy 2:4 – whose (God’s) will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth. - - - - Please note that the Scriptures say that God is going to install his own government, under the rule of his own Son, Jesus Christ - Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (King James Bible) - - - - What will be the outcome for all of mankind's governments? The Scriptures make that very clear - Daniel 2:44 - “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever, - - - - A prophecy in the book of Revelation indicates the same outcome - Revelation 16:14 - They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and they perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty. - - - - And God is not out of earshot of those wanting to learn about such things. Instead, the Scriptures call him the "Hearer of prayer" - Psalm 65:2 - O Hearer of prayer, to you people of all sorts will come. - - - - Did you notice that for a person to be saved, the Scripture quoted above says that "accurate knowledge" is required? God is patient, but time is running out for these things to take place. In view of the foregoing, I encourage all to visit this web site where free Bible lessons are offered. Your scenario sounds more like the coming of the anti-Christ. Not of Jesus.

    Literally yes.. he will come back like he left..

  • When Jesus comes back, all will see Him

    The New Testament is the only mention of Jesus. It was written by Roman politicians in the 4th Century when religion and politics were intertwined.

    Jesus has become the most financially successful hoax in history,

    It is literal. Nowhere in the verse do I see a indication that it is anything but exactly as described.

    Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

    Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

    Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

    Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
