I can’t necessarily speak from the perspective of a theatre director, but the play will likely run again, so I would say yes. However, it depends on your qualifications, if you are a director, it makes sense. But if you are a fry cook or pilot or something, it doesn’t make much sense. It would seem like you’re one of the actors, but you didn’t give much detail into what your perspective is on this topic.

A 'note' that says 'Congratulations; you are a director in a million and I would like to have your children'? Sure.

Sorry, don’t quite understand your question.

Can a director give you performance notes on closing night? Sure, if they choose too.

Can you give a director a thank you note on closing night? Sure, that would be thoughtful.

Can you give a director notes about his directing on closing night? I wouldn’t unless they asked for it. It’s not an actor’s place to give unsolicited advice to the director.

What do you mean by 'okay'?

A director can do it if he or she chooses.

    Many do.

That might depend on whether you want to work with that person again or not. Maybe save it for the after party?
