Spells of any kind are just pretend. Fiction.
Magic is a lovely idea for children and in stories and movies.
But all sensible adults understand that it really is just for fun.

Probably not a good idea in general to cast love spells. Love will come when it comes. But if you want to write a novel in which the idea is incorporated, why not? Take it as you will. That's just my 2 cents on the matter.
