Why do people get SO mad when you’re just trying to be considerate?!?
I had just got done with volunteering for something and my parents picked me up. They asked me what I wanted to eat or if I’d rather eat at home Etc. I said sure, that I’d eat out and asked what was near by. We were already driving and my dad got mad and practically started yelling asking what I want. So finally, I said Burger King. And he got all pissy saying he had just pasted a turn to go to Burger King and that’s why I should’ve said something earlier (When I clearly stated I was asking what’s close by so we didn’t have to go out of our way). So then I said it’s fine and that I’d pick something else then. And he snapped for no reason saying, “YOURE GONNA EAT BURGER KING.” Etc etc. Keep in mind, when I got in the car I wasn’t being rude or anything. He just randomly snapped and I was just trying to be considerate. Why do people get so angry over little stupid things like this? I want to understand it.

His problem was not because of Burger King but that he's either had a crappy day or hates his life. Illness or money problems can make people grumpy too. Or he could just be a crap father in general.

Seems like you might be young and therefore the likes of Burger King doesn't phase you (yet). Grown adults, especially those over 30 or 40 can't eat fast food garbage without seriously damaging their health. So maybe your parents just wanted to go to a place where they could eat actual food. Calm down, you're sounding bratty.

Dad is just impatient with you. The guy is tired and he's got something on his mind.
And so BEFORE he started the car, you and he should have decided what to do and then proceed.
Next time try this: "Hey, Dad....what's your favorite nearby restaurant? And then agree to that."

its called bitterness.Don’t expect a warm and fuzzy reception or an immediate resolution. Just like the bitter person needs to deal with his stuck in time anger, you also have to just let that go too. When a person is chronically bitter, they’re often in an antagonistic mindset and looking for a fight. If they can’t find one, they will think nothing of putting up their dukes and provoking one.
