Why are there extremely rude people in today’s society and in the last century...?

I know there are rude people of all walks of life, but I’m starting to wake up that there are extreme, extreme amounts of rude people everywhere nowadays. As soon they see something get assaulted, beaten up or fail at life, they get happy and they are are selfish, never wanting help people - they only care about themselves and push important people away that cares about them and wants to be their friend. and bully people who are richer or successful at life. Not just that they spread rumors, talks about them and provides

false info about them that aren’t even to to the full extent when they don’t even have proof of it. People talk extreme amounts of trash nowadays, calling them ugly, nobody likes them, sexually harassing them and saying nobody values them. Why are people in modern society getting worse and worse day in and day out? It wasn’t like this before, but it’s its so cringe that’s it’s terrible, now...
