Why is the actor Dwayne Johnson so popular?

He is buff and he is a tweener... i.e. not really of one race but like able to sorta cater to all.

Even if he isn't one iota Caucasian (which I doubt) he has a name that doesn't reveal that.

'Tis the industry... gotta find a way to appeal to everyone.

He has something called "charisma".....a lot of celebs have it without having or needing talent. Tom Cruise is another.

Brandon, "good" is a matter of taste. I think the Rock is a very good actor, and he is wise to select parts that are within his range. He is great at marketing himself, and that is what makes him so popular. It appears John Cena is now trying to follow the same path.

Because he's The Rock. Before he became an actor, he was the biggest star in the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) during its most popular era, so he was already famous before he became a film actor.

I think he's an alright actor.

He's also good looking and him being pretty likable helps

He's proof that a nice smile can get you far even when you lack acting talent.
