Why aren't Republicans speaking out against Trump's "hereby order" statement?
What happened to the small government conservatives screaming about laissez faire economics
He said
"Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China"
This comes right after he referred to himself as "the Chosen one", "King of Israel" and "the second coming of God." That's not small government, it's a messiah complex and completely ******* nuts"

TRUmp doesnt understand the full gravity of his actions (decisions), he is just a demagogue in love with his own imagined mastery over the universe... and when he falters this time, he wont have his father to supplement his failures (to bail him out).
I might be off topic (trump is just so aweful, it's hard to focus).... republicans dont want to stand up for their values because.... and it's not because they only want to stay in power, like many believe... but because they dont actually believe in the free market.... they only like a market that they can rig in their favor. And they will shout "free market" and "stop socialism" only because they dont want to be held accountable

It’s not an actual order, just his opinion.

Trump can "hereby order" all he wants, corporations will do what is in their best interests.

Well explain what authority he has to force companies to actually do that instead of take it as a suggestion. He can order all day long but that does not have any consequences to non-compliance.

At this moment, supporting him is the only path for them to stay in power. Without him, they'd be looking for work.

Now, now, be nice to the mentally defective. Trump suffers from delusions of adequacy.

First of all, there's no legal power behind that 'order'. It's just Trump being Trump. Haven't you figured out that the guy is basically an internet troll? What matters are his ACTIONS, not his WORDS. And his actions are a mixed bag of some good and some bad. His trade wars are bad. And many Republicans have cirticized them.
It's particularly hilarious to watch Democrats whose trade views Trump largely mirrors bend themselves into pretzels to criticize him even though he's being exactly the anti-trade guy they always claimed to be.
But yeah, it's a stupid statement. And I am going to ignore it like I do ALL of Trump's statements because the guy has nothing to say that I want to hear. Now, when/if his administration starts trying to ACT on those words, then I'll sit up and take notice.

Why should we? If he were actually putting an order out, do you think he'd do it over Twitter? Yes, honey, he's the chosen one to deal with China taking advantage of us for decades. Other Presidents wouldn't do it. You people need to take a chill pill.

If a Democrat had instigated the trade war, we would have rounded up all the Chinese not born in America and put them in internment camps.
