Which Martial Art is the right one for me?
About me: i am female, in my mid-twenties, not too sporty but with a bit of training I can get an okay stamina. Not very strong, tall and slim.
About what i am kind of martial art i am looking for:
-it should combine gaining strength aswell as "mindfulness"
-rather defense than attack, rather hands than feet, rather standing up than being on the ground.
-not too slow (like taichi) but not too agressive
Can anyone give me a suggestion? THX!!

Learn China's military martial art sanshou. I've seen girls knock guys out with it. I'm learning it now amd always beat people in sparring. You won't always be able to access a weapon so learning how to use your body is awesome!

some conditioning training, some close defense and breathing-and some weapons training. Crane and Ape drills- you're the crane. Learn some weapons- bo/staff from various schools and double stick escrima good basics. Kusari /chain is another very useful weapon to learn and basic knife fighting. Okinawan schools often teach the basic weapons and so do some of Southern Chinese schools. Wing Chun was developed by woman, very good for most women to learn center line attacks, defense. Pistol training - good to learn basic revolver- .22 to .38 may come in very handy in modern society - especially in USA in states with conceal pistol permits. Basic rifle training is good to know- at least the safety features and sighting in of .22 rifle , might find it very useful for home defense or rat control.

Steel pretty much said it perfectly.
A) Having a good instructor is more important than choosing a specific style.
B) My recommendation doesn't matter since I have no idea where you live and what's in your area.

I agree with Anonymous (concerning a good instructor over a style) 100%.
To add my two cents, and my standard canned response...
What is available within the area in which you are willing to drive? You could have your dream style revealed to you only to have the nearest school of instruction located on a different continent, which would do you no good whatsoever. If you're truly looking for a school in which to train, narrow your search down by what is within the previously-mentioned area, attend classes, talk to teachers, talk to students, don't sign any contracts, see how they train, then make a judgment based on that.
If you still require assistance in what you should take after performing all your due diligence, come back with more specific questions and others here, including myself, will be more than happy to help.
EDIT: Also, you realize that when taken for martial application, Taijiquan is not performed slowly, right? LOL

shooting its the most effective martial art. you should also look into the bomber style and the atomic missile style very good martial arts.

You have narrowed it down to just over 10,000 styles. There are 5 families of Taichi not all of them are slow moving. Some of the best grapple's I know come from taichi. They are even better then most mma fighters I have trained with.
A good instructor will help adapt the style to you.
A good instructor is more important then the style.
Mindfulness is something you would have to work on more on your own, you would have to help program your mind.

Thanks Steel, I would have messaged you after the first complement but your messenger is not accessible or maybe its mine. Its been a few years since I have been on. lol
