Did Mary lie?

Did Jesus`s mom tell him that she conceived him without having sex? Did he believe that he was special for that reason?

Yeah, and because of that lie He went out and cured incurable illnesses, restored lost limbs, raised people from the dead, read people's minds, commanded the ocean to obey Him, transformed and multiplied matter, forgave people's sins. That must have been one WHOPPER of a lie!

The Virgin Mary is completely without sin and is perfectly trustworthy. A person can battle false teachings and beliefs about her using the rosary and fasting.

The Blessed Virgin Mary didn't need to tell Jesus, since he already knew all about it, because he is God. That should pretty much take care of the second part of your question, as well.

Of course not. The mother of the Christ Child wouldn't lie. Lying is a sin.

The answer to all of those questions is the same:

    - Not that we know of.

No. Mary did not lie. There was no need for her to do that.

Jesus was not in need of any explanation because He is God the Son, part of the Trinity. He knew exactly why He was on earth because he, being part of the Godhead, knows everything that has happened, is happening now and will happen in the future.

  • I imagine is ability to change water into wine, heal the sick, walk on water and raise the dead had more to do with that "Special" feeling
