Must i allow my android phone to "update" apps which I never use?

    Nah, only if they are important, obviously software updates and apps you use regulatory. If you update apps you don't use may just use up storage and memory.

    No, you don't need to. If you don't use those apps regularly, then don't update them. It will only going to eat space on your phone.

    If there are apps you never use then delete them.

    Not updating them, even if you don’t use them, can sometimes leave your phone exposed to security vulnerabilities.

    You need to disable auto update in the Google Play Store.
