As a man, I have been asked to wear a petticoat under a dress in a play. Should I say yes, I mean I knew I was playing a genderfluid role.?

Update:

Just wanted to clarify that there's nothing wrong about the petticoat-dress combo of traditionally gendered clothing (I mean I like it). Just that as an actor (and a GF one) I was thrown a bit by the 'gender stereotype' of the clothing which pushed me on my interpretation of the role. I mean I'm gonna do it by the way/like the challenge. Thank you for the understanding comments btw.

Yes, especially since you knew the role was genderfluid

As an actor there is no "asked."

You accepted the acting roll, you play it as directed.

That depends on if you really want the role or not.

It's part of the costume and you're supposed to be an actor playing a role, so YES.

It's a costume...for a play...since when do actors get to say yes or no to wardrobe? That's the director's job. FYI this has absolutely nothing to do with LGBT. Put it in Theater&Acting.

You're not a man, you're a "they", something without sex or gender.

Be careful, the stain from gender fluid is hard to get out...………………….
