Why do people set up a LinkedIn profile even if they have regular low paying jobs?

I notice that individuals who earn only 35-40,000 or are even unemployed have Linkedin profiles. I don't have a linked profile and I make 200,000 per year.

Because they're trying to network their ways into higher paying jobs. Also if you think 200K is the pinnacle of existence you don't live where I live.

Yeah but you spend $250,000 and you'll be on welfare, sleeping on the streets while eating a $17 organic almond butter with a $750 phone. Don't think I haven't seen it 15 times today alone.
