There is no way you should buy a 2012 car with 195K without getting it checked out by an independent mechanic. It would be wise of you to pay the price of this inspection so you have a complete diagnosis

With a hundred and ninety-five thousand miles on it it's coming to the end of its engine and transmission life. The rest of the vehicle also has in hundred and ninety-five thousand miles on its components. If I was you I would take that money and opted for a car that isn't quite so prestigious with lower miles.

I sold my Charger when it had 168,000 miles on it since at this point it is going to start getting very expensive to keep it on the road! Your purchase is not a wise one, unless you accept the fact that you will have to do a lot of catch-up servicing!

Having checked the kelly blue book website (kbb.com) your prospective vehicle is worth anywhere from $3k to $5k depending on it's state of appearance and mechanicals.

Do not be satisfied with a 'it seems OK' kind of inspection. But if it does pass a professional inspection with flying colors, the price is not that bad. I would try offering $4000, and if that got rejected, then $4500.

The Hemi is a great engine, but it is also one that encourages abusive driving.

If it is in good shape it will last as long as you are willing to look after it.

Personally, I wouldn't buy any used car with more than 100,000 miles. However, if it was a one-owner car with documentation of all maintenance, I'd go for something like an Accord if the price was right.

The Charger is a sporty car and past drivers probably thrashed it.
