If a baby has a mix of dark hair coming through with blonde, does that mean one paren was dark and the other is blonde?

    No. It means that at least one parent had the gene for blond hair and at least one parent has the gene for brown or dark hair. Since blonde is a recessive gene, dark-haired parents can produce a blonde child.
