I just got my car Repossessed. What happens next?

So I’m with a loan company which is under Drivetime called Bridgecrest. I had some set backs but I always try to pay my two week bill. This time I missed about maybe 3-4 payments and most times they are very lenient. I went to check out my account and it said it’s in the repossession process please pay now. Which I did I paid what was due, but they still took my car last night Sept 7. Sucks because I was stranded at work and it’s 12am in the morning. My question is if I paid what was due is there away I can hurry up and get it back before it I guess goes into the auction.

Maybe YOU should be talking "TO THEM" Like BEFORE you even came to Y.A. to waste your time here. THEY TOOK IT, maybe get them to explain where you messed up in your CONTRACT with them and is there any recourse?

Sometimes the LEFT hand does not know what the RIGHT hand is doing.

Repossession guys is the LEFT DEPARTMENT, the guys that receive the payments is the RIGHT DEPARTMENT.

One part sits in an office and pushes paper all day and the other department is out rounding up cars all day."as they were directed to do" Maybe your vehicle is in "Quasi-land" right now...a place where you MIGHT JUST BE ABLE TO RESCUE IT BEFORE IT HEADS OFF TO AUCTION. So you "might" have a chance to retrieve it provided you get the OK from the department that got the money. So it is a big phone chase right now! You got to call many people to "Put a hold" on it (if that is even possible)

What you are essentially doing is sticking a stick into a HORNETS NEST RIGHT NOW AND RILING THEM UP SOMETHING FIERCE. (or throwing a wrench into the working of a machine so it flucks up because they actually have to stop processing like normal and do the ABNORMAL to fix this just for you. (they might or they might not)

OR...that is the penalty for missing payments for too long. I am hedging on the bet that they would allow you to get your car back(maybe paying an additional penalty for them sending their boys out to retrieve it...so you got to pay for that effort.

As you see, YOU SHOULD BE ON THE PHONE TO THEM "RIGHT NOW" NOT HERE SCRATCHING YOUR BUTT wondering.

"Major RUSH" on your part. Fluck work....get the car back effort SHOULD BE HAPPENING "BY YOU"

You paid up and they still took the vehicle, call the police and report that they took your vehicle illegally. That will do for starters, then get one dam good attorney and sue them!

My guess is that you start taking public transportation, get a bicycle or start walking a lot.

Good question, but you're asking in the wrong place.

HINT: This is entirely between you and your lender / repo company.

OTHER HINT: Your lender has a customer service department.

    OTHER-OTHER HINT: This isn't it.

they sell the car and you pay what the difference is between the price they got and what you owe along with destroying your credit

Maybe...You no longer qualify for a loan. You'd have to start all over again with a new loan, but your FICO is now 480. So you don't qualify. I hear the bus is cheap. You might try buying a used bicycle (one with lights) & yes, you'll still need your drivers license for ID when the cops stop you. I hope you pay your rent on time because, with a low FICO, you won't rent another.

You will also have to pay the expenses incurred from the repossession... The only way you're going to know is to actually TALK TO the loan company.

You ask: "Can I get it back before it goes to the auction?"

That is a question you will have to ask your lender. How would anyone else know?

You "missed maybe 3- 4 payments". What did you expect? That they would keep allowing you to miss payments and let you just go on your merry way?

The "so" generation.... Do they have a clue?
