(cot x-1/cot x+1)=(1-tan x/1+tan x), x=pi/4

Update: I fixed the format so it is more accurate. (cot x-1)/(cot x+1)=(1-tan x)/(1+tan x), x=pi/4

    1/tan x - 1

    --------------

    1/tan x + 1

    1 - tan x

    -------------

    1 + tan x

    For x = π/4 :-

    1 - 1

    -------- = 0

    using rules of precedence, that is

    (cot x - (1/cot x) + 1) = (1 - (tan x/1) + tan x)

    or, simplifying

    cot x - tan x + 1 = 1

    x = pi/4

    1 – 1 + 1 = 1

    1 = 1

    true
