If i buy an ebook on amazon and it says "kindle edition" but there's no other version, will i be able to read it on my phone?

Yes. You just need to download and install the Kindle app and register it using the same account.

If you are in the USA and have an Amazon.com account then you can get Kindle apps on any Apple or Android phone or tablet and can also read them on your computer. So if your phone is a smartphone than yes almost for sure. I read my on my LG android tablet.

Fraggle is right. I just want to add that Amazon doesn't sell any ebooks that aren't "Kindle edition". There are other ebook formats, but Amazon doesn't see any need to offer them.
