Is a False Widow Spider bite really that bad?
See reports of people getting sent to hospital and being ill for a few weeks because of being bitten by one.
But I thought it was a case of only if you're allergic that them sort of things would happen, if you're not allergic then it wouldn't be any worse than a wasp sting.

This would depend on the person and if they are allergic to the toxin the spider injected into the skin, however the FWS is no more dangerious than a reg spider and the bite can and has caused reactions in people who may of had to go to the ER to get treatment for swelling .
The bite usually is not felt at time the spider bites,, however in a short time frame the area feels a burning sensation then followed by radiating pain in a matter of 20-30 mins this area begins to swell. If the bite was on the hand ( as often as it is) it takes a bit longer to swell about 3-4 hours. Then a tingle feeling begins ,along with redness, and should be able to see the puncture marks in the area .however the effects don't last as long as the BWS
I can see why a person would rush to the hospital if the body starts to swell or they get tingling it may send a red flag to that person this could be a stroke or a heart attack in progress untile told other wise people don't know its from a spider.

A false widow spider is still going to be painful and it can still harm you especially if you're allergic but it's not nearly as dangerous as being bitten by a black widow
