check engine light is on?

Update:

2015 gmc sierra durimax diesel. sept11, check engine light came on for a few days, went off and then came back on, had it checked and it stated code p249d, "replace diesel emissions fluid injector" as of sept 23 engine runs fine, truck has not gone into limp mode, i think engine light is bullshit code. tried pulling battery terminals to erase code, didnt work, how do i get rid of the engine light.

    Check your gas cap.

    Take it to an auto parts store and get a free reading. Then Google the code.
