What, if anything, has to be done so a new employer’s health insurance will cover my pre-existing injury?
I am aware that some employer insurance plans will not cover a pre existing injury if it has not been first “ok’d” by the employer. What do I need to ask my prospective employer to do for this insurance company to accept my injury, which needs periodic care and every so often I need to replace medical appliances to assist caring for said injury.
I should say, that this employer is in Ontario, Canada
And it is not a injury that was cared for by wsib

Under ACA, there is no such thing as a pre-existing condition. Even before that, if you had a coverage gap of no more than 30 days, the new policy had to cover them. That said, your new policy may have such a high deductible and co-pays that it might not cover very much.

Your insurance will either cover pre-existing or won't. It depends on the plan the employer bought. The manager can't just tell them to cover something if it's not in the plan.

You say pre-existing injury...was this a workplace injury? I only ask because WC should be paying in that instance...
This is a tricky one, you might want to ask someone local.

Talk to your human resources department, ongoing medical issues are sometimes 'maintained' with medication and appliances.
